Additional Details

First edition. In the waning years of the French and Indian war, this pamphlet argues for the importance of retaining Canada rather than sugar-producing Guadeloupe, as a means of protecting the western frontier. It was written as a response to William Burke's "Remarks on the Letter Address'd to Two Great Men." Some sources list Richard Jackson as co-author. Ford's Franklin bibliography attributes the work to Franklin with some assistance from Jackson, while Howes lists Jackson as the primary author. With the final leaf (lacking in some copies). Ford 262; Howes J26 ("aa"); Sabin 35450.
